[After all thats happened the past few months, Damus has hardly felt up for socializing. Between the incident with Pharma and the strange residual memories that linger from their time on Xiich and Vector Prime’s tomb, he has a lot to think about. It all leaves him in a sour mood.
But, today he finds himself lonely. For the first time sine his release from the VVH, Damus sends Kaon a request for his company.Damus misses the quiet companionship that time together brought him, however he doesn’t expect that it will remain the same after all they’ve been through. He hopes that at the very least it won’t make matters worse.]
Come to my quarters for a drink. [A few moments pass] I’ve been missing you.
[ He doesn't necessarily think that Damus has been avoiding him, but maybe he does think that. Look, they've had some aches and pains with their relationship as of late. ]
They haven't stopped me yet. In the meantime, I have accrued quite the personal collection.] [The bitterness isn't missed even through text.] I'm sorry that it's taken so long. I hadn't meant for this much time to pass.
I don't want an apology. I've had Vos keeping me busy.
[ Or at least as much as Vos can entertain him and keep him from acting out in boredom. Over text it might sound curt, but he means it as gentle as possible. ]
[He's impressed that Kaon doesn't keep him waiting. Only a few minutes later there is a knock on his door. Damus had expected that he would take his time to really rub in the irritation that he's sure Kaon is harboring. His Second in command was always more affectionate than the others. Without Vos' attention Damus is sure that Kaon would be furious about being ignored.
He opens the door, pulling Kaon immediately into an embrace.]
[ Kaon's no stranger to affection among his teammates, but he's not completely prepared for the embrace that Damus pulls him into before he has the chance to really sense his surroundings and what is going on. He makes a small 'ack' sound, but doesn't squirm because of the familiar field.
His own field is probing, questioning though, and after a moment the tension of surprise drains out of him. ]
You startled me. [ He trusts Damus not to pull his head off this time. ]
[ Kaon doesn't think there's a need for an apology, but he doesn't get to say that before he's pulled along. He goes with him easily, letting himself be lead practically blind instead of snapping his coils.
He settles down when he can, touching the seat before sitting. ]
[Damus sets to work pouring two glasses of good quality high grade, setting one on a side table beside Kaon, before taking a seat beside him. His fingers brush his own restraining bolt as he relaxes back, crossing his thighs]
I was given one to match after my incident with Pharma. We're lucky they let you free at all after that blunder...
[Though, he is relieved that after Kaon's release he didn't find his second in command in more trouble. All has been blissfully quiet.]
Autobots could no longer claim focus on peacekeeping and neutrality if they punished me further for actions I didn't perform.
[ He's behaving. So far. Well, aside from pillaging the corpse of a long dead prime and overdosing on his innermost. Kaon can only behave so much.
Kaon takes the glass, lifting it to his lips and swallows it. It's nice, but not quite the same as they used to have. ]
He's been very possessive and clingy. [ He leans an elbow on the arm of his seat then rests his cheek against it. ] Though I think he might be mad at me.
Oh? [The glass hovers just touching Damus' lip for a moment before he takes a drink.] What makes you say that? Typically Vos is extremely transparent with his displeasure.
[Disagreements and infighting within his team was not unheard of. However, Damus needs them to all be on the same page right now. There isn't room for petty disagreements.]
[Damus freezes, drink still held aloft. The conversation has strayed into dangerous territory and Damus is more than aware that he needs to step lightly.]
Understandably. I know that this must be difficult for you.
[He does his best to stay neutral, yet sympathetic.]
Vos might just need a bit of assurance that you are just as fond of him. Your relationship with-- [He stops himself before saying the pet] With the old Vos was so unique. He may feel as if you are trying to replace him with something new.
[He's so intensely bewildered by this that he completely forgets to keep his voice down. He winces and lowers his voice down to the quietest of whispers.]

Sorry for getting you in trouble.
I didn't realize it was going to be such a big deal.

You come back with all your parts where they should be?

Why, did you do something to my body after I died?

Damn, Tarn must be really serious about this whole "appease the Autobots" thing.
no subject
He prefers being called Damus now.
no subject
Why? What was wrong with Tarn?
Is he so deep in his willingness to roll over for the Autobots that he wants to distance himself from his name?
[These are dangerous words, and if Tarn (or Damus) hears, it'd be over for the two of them.]

I think he's ashamed of us.
no subject
[His anger bubbles like Helex's cauldron, and it's a struggle to keep his voice quiet in case someone is listening.]
How can he claim to be our leader when he doesn't want to associate with us?
Does he not care about us anymore?
no subject
[Tesarus is too loud. Soundwave or even Vos might be listening.]
I've been trying to make amends, but things haven't been the same since he beheaded me. Do you think he'll actually let us kill any organics?
no subject
Beheaded you? When did he do that?
[He's so intensely bewildered by this that he completely forgets to keep his voice down. He winces and lowers his voice down to the quietest of whispers.]
When did he behead you?
no subject
...At the battle of the Necrobot's fortress. The Deadlock had captured the Pet and my pleas for a rescue angered him.
